What is the Kris Kringle Market, you ask?
It’s a holiday celebration for all ages. Located at the corner of Fayette and Spruce Streets at the Morgantown Market Place, the Kris Kringle Market will host up to 30 vendors, including 10 artisans from the Tamarack. Based on European traditional holiday markets, festivities will include local vendors and artisans, children’s activities, Santa Claus, a reindeer, and authentic German holiday foods and Gluehwein (spiced hot wine).
Who is organizing this market, and why?
Monongalia County Habitat for Humanity, the City of Morgantown, and Main Street Morgantown will be teaming up to host the event. It is our hope to embellish the holiday season by introducng international flavor and traditions while supporting local businesses and artisans.
For more information, please contact Assistant City Manager Glen Kelly. The booking cost per booth will be $35, and all vendors will be required to bring their own tables and acquire a vendor permit from the Finance Office. Reservations are required by September 1st.
