Brick Row

119-137 Pleasant Street

Accessibility Note

In 1894, the B&O Railroad reached Morgantown, beginning a period of growth for the city. To meet the new housing demand, these boarding houses, known as “Brick Row,” were built. Morgantown architect Elmer Jacobs and a variety of other Morgantown residents lived here. In fact, 121 Pleasant St., where Jacobs lived, is now the lower bar of the popular music venue 123 Pleasant Street and is still nicknamed Jacobs’s House in his honor.
