Main Street Morgantown attended the 2014 Governor’s Awards on Wednesday, June 18, 2014 at 5 p.m. at the State Capitol Complex’s Culture Center in Charleston.
At the event, Main Street Morgantown was awarded a Main Street Innovation Award worth $1,500 to begin implementing its new rebranding program. Additionally, Main Street Morgantown’s executive director, Terri Cutright, was recognized at the awards ceremony for her 25 years of service to MSM, and MSM’s “volunteers of the year” were recognized for their outstanding contributions to the organization. Main Street Morgantown (MSM) began its rebranding process on February 11, 2014.
The rebranding, provided by Main Street West Virginia, will continue for six to eight weeks after its initiation in February. Throughout this time, MSM will work with Arnett Muldrow & Associates, a city planning and marketing firm that specializes in community branding, downtown revitalization, economic development and historic preservation. This firm has a focus on expanding communities’ customer bases, attracting new visitors and recruiting new businesses based on demand.
