Morgantown Theatre Company (MTC) is a nonprofit organization that provides school age children with a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in a variety of theatre arts activities, ranging from acting, singing, and dancing to behind the scenes activities like set and prop design, lighting, sound effects, makeup, stage management, and even directing.

Each semester, every MTC student “gets a part” in a direct on-stage experience. MTC produces approximately four to six performances for the general public each year at the historic Metropolitan Theatre. Additionally, MTC students have provided entertainment for Secretary of State, Colin Powell, and former West Virginia governor Cecil H. Underwood at “West Virginia’s Promise: The Alliance for Youth Celebration” as well as Make-a-Wish Foundation benefits, the West Virginia Special Olympics State Competition, Main Street Morgantown’s MedExpress Kids’ Day, and much more.
